For the love of Home Ownership

Easy to say and yes I am happy, actually I am ecstatic that I finally entered the home owner elite. Well it seems that way at the moment even though I know we are no more elite than anyone else. In actual fact nothing has really changed. I have to pay money to someone else every month for the privileged of staying in a house. I do not like where I am going with this. I love my new house, all mine now I need to make it my own. The mortgage and insurance are taken care of and I have my new carpets arriving next week so all is well.

Installation of Stair Gates for Greater Safety

By Thomas Eve

When it comes to safety it is critical to make sure that you are doing everything that you can. When considering a gate on your stairs to prevent a child or animal from going up and down them, it is equally important to conduct a proper installation. Stair gates seem to be simple enough to install but when you open the box you may find a long set of instructions.

First consider that the stair gates and safety gates can be installed in a number of ways. It can depend on how you want the gate to open or whether you simply want the safety gates to stay in place and never be moved. It is also important to pay close attention to the area in which you will be installing your gate. The various materials to which the gate will be attached determine the way that it should be installed.

If installing to the wall you will generally need to make sure that there are wood studs beneath the drywall so that the stair gates attach securely and safely. If there is not enough support under the drywall, or your anchors are not strong, the stair gates will pull away from the wall pressure is applied. This is not something that is worth risking, especially if you have small children or larger pets.

Due to the safety and warranty issues, it is important to make sure that you are working from the step by step installation instructions. This will help make sure that you are completing the installation process properly. Even if you have installed several stair gates and safety gates throughout the years, it is important to make sure that you are reading the instructions. You never know when the process might change to increase effectiveness or to address new safety concerns.

Furthermore, you may want to research the web for additional resources to make sure that you are properly installing the stair gates. With all of the various help sites on the internet, you should have no problem finding a video demonstrating the installation of stair gates. By watching the process from start to finish you will be better equipped with the knowledge needed in order to complete the task at hand.

In conclusion, carefully review the installation area, make sure you have the proper tools, follow the step-by-step directions, and watch a video on the job being completed, you will be prepared to install your stair gates without any fuss. At this point, if you still feel unsure about the installation of the stair and safety gates, have someone walk through the directions as you work. By making it a team effort the job should be successfully completed in less than a few hours.
